7:45 P.M. UPDATE:
A man was found dead after a standoff with Washoe County Sheriff's Office personnel in Sun Valley on Tuesday.
WCSO dispatch got a call about a domestic disturbance involving a man with a gun at around 9:20 a.m. on Tuesday, according to a release from the WCSO.
Deputies contacted the woman who contacted them blocks away from the home on Sprucewood Drive where the man was located.
She told them she had heard a single gunshot from inside the home before calling authorities.
Shortly after, smoke was seen coming from the home, and the man barricaded himself inside.
A perimeter was set around the home, and deputies thought they heard another gunshot from inside.
Washoe County Sheriff’s Office SWAT and Hostage Negotiation teams were dispatched to the scene and made multiple attempts to contact the man.
Medical personnel and crews from Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District also arrived on the scene.
While negotiators kept trying to speak with the man, heavy smoke began coming from the home.
Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District firefighters worked to extinguish the fire while SWAT members provided cover to ensure firefighters could safely access the home.
When the fire was out and crews could go inside, they found a man dead.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
The Washoe County Regional Medical Examiner’s Office is conducting its formal death investigation and will release the identity of the man after next of kin are notified.

Washoe County deputies are working to resolve a situation involving a person inside a home near Sprucewood Drive in Sun Valley.
Our photographer at the scene reports deputies used a loudspeaker in an attempt to speak with an unidentified person inside the home. SWAT members are also on scene.
The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office is advising the public to avoid the area near Gerdes Avenue and use alternate routes until the situation is resolved. The advisory was issued at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday.
Truckee Meadows Fire & Rescue helped put out a fire that occurred at the home. It is not yet clear what caused the fire or the circumstances that led to the incident.
Officials have not released additional details at this time.
