It may be months away, but organizers are already inviting people across Nevada to start planning for one of the state’s most recognized traditions, with parade entries now open and sponsorship opportunities available.
The Nevada Day Parade 2026 is set for October 31, bringing its annual celebration of the state’s history and community spirit back to the streets with the theme “Pumpkins, Pioneers and Tall Tales.” The theme highlights Nevada’s frontier roots, fall traditions, and storytelling tied to the state’s founding in 1864.
Organizers say the parade will once again feature music, floats, and community groups, continuing a tradition that draws participants and spectators from across the region.
Leading the parade this year will be Grand Marshal Steven Saylor. The event will also honor Legacy Grand Marshal Bobby Bean posthumously, recognizing his past leadership as a former Nevada Day Parade president and his contributions to the event.
People interested in participating can now submit applications, though organizers say space will be limited to about 200 entries. A late fee will take effect on August 31, encouraging early sign-ups.
Applications and additional information are available on the Nevada Day website.
The parade will also include returning and new contests. The Parade Decorating Contest is set to return, encouraging participants to design entries inspired by the theme. Organizers say entries can focus on a single element, such as pumpkins, or combine multiple aspects of the theme.
A new Pumpkin Decorating Contest is also planned, which will include a cash prize. More details on both contests are expected to be released as planning continues.
Organizers are also seeking sponsors to help support the event, with a range of sponsorship options available for businesses and organizations of different sizes.
Nevada Day is supported each year through community and business contributions, which organizers say help maintain the long-standing tradition.
Additional details about participation, contests, and sponsorship opportunities can be found on the event website.
