A busy intersection in Sparks will be closed for six weekends to help complete a maintenance project starting this month.
The intersection at McCarran Boulevard and Prater Way will be closed for six weekends starting Saturday, June 14 to complete a sewer improvement project.
Scheduled weekends are June 14-15, June 21-22, June 28-29, July 12-13, July 19-20, and July 26-27. No work will be done July 5-6. The intersection will be closed Saturdays at 4 a.m. through Mondays at 5 a.m.
Officials say the intersection will stay open during the regular week, Monday through Friday, and during the July 4th holiday weekend as well.
The project consists of widening existing sewer line and building a new manhole structure at the intersection.
Detours will be in place for the duration of the project.
