The Nevada Health Authority is coordinating temporary Medicaid guidelines and flexibilities following the state’s emergency declaration for areas affected by the Hawk Fire, with the changes aimed at helping people continue accessing essential health care, prescriptions, medical supplies and other vital services.

Governor Lombardo issued the State of Emergency on August 22 as the fire created disruption and uncertainty for individuals, families and communities across Washoe County. The Nevada Health Authority said it is also working with Medicaid health plans to provide guidance to providers on Medicaid reimbursement during the emergency.

For providers who need help coordinating a member’s care, the Nevada Medicaid District Office is available to provide assistance.

Members who need help accessing critical resources can contact their health plan:

  • Anthem: (844) 396-2329

  • CareSource Healthcare: (833) 230-2058

  • Health Plan of Nevada: (800) 962-8070

  • Molina Healthcare of Nevada: (833) 685-2102

  • SilverSummit Health Plan: (844) 366-2880

  • Liberty Dental Plan of Nevada: (866) 609-0418

The Nevada Health Authority said additional support is available through the Nevada Emergency Management website and its official social media channels, which are available through Linktree.

The agency said its priority during the emergency is helping members maintain access to health care and other essential services while supporting providers as they navigate Medicaid reimbursement during the response and recovery efforts.
