Truckee Meadows Fire & Rescue and the Reno Fire Department responded to a natural gas fire at a home in west Reno on Monday night.
It happened around 6:15 p.m. on Rimfire Circle, according to a spokesperson for TMFR.
The Reno Fire Department says lightning struck a tree and a gas meter, and that the fire was fueled by leaking gas.
The fire burned until NV Energy shut off the gas.
The fire ignited in the yard of a home, but never reached the home.
Nobody was injured or displaced in the fire.
