  • Chris Larson The heat is on! High pressure will continue to dominate our weather pattern for at least the next week with hot and above average temperatures in the upper-90s and likely some triple digit heat by the weekend. We hit a high of 98 degrees Tuesday afternoon… with again showers and thunderstorms remaining well south and east of the Reno area. It looks like a repeat performance for Wednesday afternoon with potential for showers and storm over central and eastern Nevada. High pressure continues to build over the west through the end of the week. As high pressure centers over the four-corners this weekend, we’ll see more of a southerly flow develop over the silver state. This monsoonal flow will bring an increasing chance for showers and thunderstorms into western Nevada starting on Sunday. Until then the Reno and Lake Tahoe area will be remain mainly sunny and hot with highs in the upper-90s. And we’re still talking about triple digit heat for Friday and Saturday.
