The Nevada County Sheriff’s Office is increasing off-highway vehicle enforcement over the Labor Day weekend.
Deputies will patrol popular recreation areas from Sept. 4 through Sept. 7, focusing on areas expected to see more visitors and places that regularly generate calls for service.
The Sheriff’s Office says it receives complaints each year involving trespassing, unsafe OHV use, environmental damage, vandalism, illegal campfires and litter.
Deputies will use a fleet of specialized vehicles to patrol areas that aren't accessible by traditional patrol vehicles.
Officials are reminding OHV riders to stay on authorized trails, respect private property and recreate safely over the holiday weekend.
