If you've ever wanted to see how the Sparks Marina gets its live fish, you'll have the chance coming up this weekend.

The Nevada Department of Wildlife is preparing for their fish stocking season, and the Sparks Marina will be getting 3,000 brown trout this Friday.

The event happens this Friday, March 14 at 11:00 a.m. at the north boat ramp at the Sparks Marina.

The brown trout come via NDOW fish trucks from the Mason Valley Hatchery.

Between the spring and fall, NDOW says they stock 20 community ponds and streams in western Nevada with almost 90,000 trout.

Anyone who wishes to catch these new fish can expect trout around 9-10 inches, which are the largest fish the hatchery grows.
