Several Nevada dignitaries including Governor Joe Lombardo remembered the Las Vegas mass shooting nine years ago in a sunrise ceremony on Thursday.
Clark County and the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department co-hosted the annual 1October Sunrise Remembrance Ceremony.
58 people died the night of the shooting, with two additional victims dying months later from their wounds. More than 850 people were injured.

On the ninth anniversary of the tragic 1 October shooting, the deadliest mass shooting in American history, U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) delivered a floor speech honoring the 60 people who lost their lives as a result of the tragedy. Senator Rosen recognized the heroism of Las Vegas’ first responders and urged Congress to take action against gun violence and pass common-sense gun safety laws to prevent more tragedies – including passing her bipartisan bill to ban bump stocks.
