The Paseo Verde Little League team from Henderson has advanced to the next round of the Little League World Series.
The Henderson team, representing the Mountain Region, beat the Wailuku, Hawaii team from the West Region 3-2 on Monday afternoon.
After their victory against the Hawaiian team, Paseo Verde won against a team from Staten Island, New York on Thursday, August 15th. The score in that game was 9-1.
The team's next challenge comes in the form of Texas, who won the Southeast Region-Southwest Region game. Texas beat Florida with a score of 4-1 on Monday.
Paseo Verde's next game is scheduled for Wednesday, August 21st at 12:00 p.m. If the team can defeat Texas, it will move on to the U.S. Championship game.
If they're able to win the U.S. Championship, the team then moves on to the World Series Championship.
