NTCA & North Tahoe Chamber awards $660,000 towards tourism

Tourism-generated funds are supporting 48 special events, including 12 ongoing events scheduled for North Lake Tahoe in 2026.

Local favorites like the Made in Tahoe Festival, the Alpenglow Sports Winter Speaker Series, the Tahoe City Food and Wine Classic, and the Tahoe Film Fest are among the events awarded funding. In total, $660,000 was awarded by the North Tahoe Community Alliance and the North Tahoe Chamber, based on recommendations from the volunteer Business and Chamber Advisory Committee.

“Because of the TBID, this year we were able to provide funding and support more local events than ever before,” said Kimberly Brown, North Tahoe Chamber executive director. “Events help support our local business community, and we’re excited to welcome back returning event producers and some new ones, and to offer residents and visitors a diverse mix of cultural and recreational activities throughout the year. Investment in events like those that received funding is important because they help contribute to the economic vitality and vibrancy of our community.”

Funding for the sponsorship program comes from the North Lake Tahoe Tourism Business Improvement District. The program invests tourism-generated revenue into projects designed to support community vitality, environmental stewardship, and long-term economic resilience.
