The Storey County Fire Protection District is conducting prescribed burns in the Seven Mile Canyon area.
Starting on January 6 through January 7, communities from Virginia City Highlands, Virginia City, and Geiger Grade could see smoke.
Fire officials say smoke will possibly be seen overnight; they're asking for you not to report it.
