President Joe Biden is making a brief stop in our area to visit staff and volunteers at his Reno campaign headquarters.
The last time the president visited the area was last August, for a vacation in Lake Tahoe.
Peckham Lane at the south end of the Reno-Tahoe International Airport is a common place people pull over to watch Air Force One fly in.
The airport tells us that tomorrow Air Force One is expected to arrive at 11 a.m. and will leave at 12:45 p.m.
The airport says a terminal flight restriction will be put into effect thirty minutes before the president's expected arrival time for airspace within a thirty nautical mile radius.
They are also enforcing a ramp freeze fifteen minutes before President Biden's arrival, and it will not be lifted until after he leaves the airport.
This means no foot, vehicle, or aircraft traffic will be allowed on the terminal ramps and in or around the concourses, and all operations including construction will pause until the ramp freeze is lifted.
In addition to the ramp freeze and flight restrictions, Reno Police said there will be a road closure on Terminal Way tomorrow beginning at Vassar Street and ending on Villanova Drive prior to Airmotive Way. This will be in place from 7:30 a.m. until 1 p.m.
We do not know if the president will be arriving from the south end of the airport or the north end, but once again if you do plan to watch the Air Force One fly in tomorrow it is recommended that you pull over on Peckham Lane and watch it from there.
