May Day rallies took place across the country on Friday, including here in northern Nevada.
Protesters gathered at the Believe Plaza to call for better working conditions, as well as the reorganization of funds in the City of Reno budget.
The City of Reno responded to the protests, saying it supports civic participation and the exercise of First Amendment rights.
"We encourage residents to stay engaged and make their voices heard as the City Council considers important decisions, all in support of building a community people are proud to call home," the City said.
