Reservation Road fire

The Reno Fire Department (RFD) acted quickly to knock down a fire Sunday evening on Reservation Road.

According to a rep from RFD, a call came in at around 5:40 p.m. Sunday evening reporting a home on fire at 57 Reservation Road.

RFD crews were on the scene within minutes and started work on the fire. They say it appears that the fire started outside in some bushes and spread up into the attic of the house.

The fire was officially knocked down just after 6:00 p.m.

32 different Reno Fire personnel were on scene working the fire, and units will continue to be on scene for a while to clean up. Staff from Reno Fire Department, Reno Police Department, Tribal Fire & Police were on scene as well.

No people have been reported injured, but one dog was injured in the fire.

A GoFundMe has been started for the Melendez family, who lived in the home and recently just lost a family member, Arlen Melendez.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
