The Reno Planning Commission approved a couple of measures on Wednesday.
One measure allows a Midtown bar to have live entertainment after 11 p.m., while another removes zoning barriers for childcare centers in Reno.
The owner of the Jupiter Red Bar says they are determined to work with neighbors concerned about possible noise.
The permit allows live music past 11 p.m. on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights only, and the bar must have security outside on those nights.
As for the childcare centers, officials voted unanimously to remove zoning barriers, saying it could help avoid what is known as a childcare desert.
