Four Reno schools competed in the JROTC Drones Nationals in Batesville, Mississippi, over the weekend.
Reed, Wooster, Hug, and Damonte Ranch were the four schools that made it to the Nationals.
Students from across the country participated in the two-day competition.
Over the past year, the four schools' teachers and students have put in countless hours to reach this stage.
Reno schools received more prizes than any other city out of all those in attendance.
The competition was attended by the Damonte Ranch teams 98765X (Donkeystangs), 98765W (Suppostangs), and 98765Y (Flying Mustangs).
Damonte Ranches is competing in drones for the second year and has qualified for the Naval Academy's Regionals, JROTC Nationals, and Navy JROTC Nationals competitions in Annapolis, Maryland.
Damonte won the 2025 Navy Champions trophy, the first-place Airmanship Award, and the Communications Mission Champion award at Batesville.
Team 1962B (Skyward) from Earl Wooster High School participated in the tournament.
Wooster is participating in both the JROTC Nationals and the Army Bowl in Fort Benning for the first time this year.
Wooster won the Judges Award for first place in Batesville.
The following teams from Edward Reed competed in the competition: 19586B (Dollar Store Marines), 19586C (Pickles), 19586F (Curley Mustaches), and 19586A (Saturn). Reed has been competing in drones for three years and has qualified for the Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland's Regionals, JROTC Nationals, and Navy JROTC Nationals competitions.
The competition was attended by the Procter Hugh team's 3530A (007 Grey's Anatomy).
Hug's first year of competition has earned them a spot in both the JROTC Nationals and the Army Bowl in Fort Benning.
