UPDATE - September 2:
Renown Health and Prominence Health have reached a new commercial agreement that makes all Renown services in-network for Prominence Health commercial members, effective September 1.
The agreement expands access across Renown’s network, including adult and pediatric specialty services for patients with Prominence commercial insurance. The agreement does not include Medicare Advantage plans.
"The new commercial agreement reflects our commitment to ensuring patients have access to the care they need, when and where they need it," said Anna Loomis, Chief Financial Officer for Renown Health. "We are pleased to strengthen access to comprehensive, high-quality care, and create a more seamless experience for patients and providers across our community."
The new agreement comes after Renown had previously notified existing patients with Prominence Health plans that its specialty agreement would end August 31 and those services would be considered out-of-network beginning September 1.
Renown says it accepts most health insurance plans and lists accepted plans on its website.
ORIGINAL STORY - July 14:
Some of Renown Health’s specialty services will soon be out-of-network for Prominence Health members starting September 1.
In a statement to 2 News Nevada, Renown Health says it recently issued a 90-day notice notifying existing Renown patients with Prominence Health plans that effective August 31st, Renown's specialty agreement will end.
The agreement previously allowed Prominence members access to certain specialized services at Renown, despite Renown not being part of the Prominence network.
Starting September 1, Renown says patients with Prominence who are receiving active treatment may continue to receive care at Renown, however, services will be considered out-of-network, and patients may be responsible for applicable out-of-network costs.
Renown says patients are encouraged to work with Prominence or their employer’s benefits team to identify in-network providers and discuss available coverage options.
Renown Health is discontinuing a special agreement with Prominence Health at the end of next month.
