The Regional Transportation of Washoe County is holding a public information meeting Wednesday on the feasibility of a possible new connector between Sparks and the Tahoe-Reno Industrial Center.Â
The meeting will be held Wednesday, Dec. 17, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Red Hawk Golf Resort Events Center at 6600 North Wingfield Parkway in Sparks.Â
The presentation will include information about the feasibility study process, proposed alternatives and key findings.
A formal presentation will begin at 5:30 p.m., and RTC project team members will be available throughout the meeting to answer questions and discuss the study’s insights and next steps.
The Northeast Connector Feasibility and Alignment Study explores whether a new roadway between northeast Sparks/Spanish Springs and the Tahoe-Reno Industrial Center is feasible and beneficial for the region. It examines traffic patterns, environmental considerations, potential alignments, construction factors and conceptual costs to determine which connection should move forward for further analysis.
A feasibility study is the first step in evaluating a major transportation project. It helps regional decision-makers understand whether a project is worth advancing to future phases.
Meeting materials and an online version of the presentation will be available after the meeting at rtcwashoe.com/northeast-connector
