Troop 1847 and Gear Hut are hosting a post-Burning Man collection event, accepting valuable goods.
From August 30 through September 1, Burners are being asked to drop off unopened food, bagged trash, bottled water, bikes and reusable camping gear.
Items can be dropped off at 5125 Mill Street in Reno, in the large parking lot west of Kiwanis.
At the location, you can follow signage and cones at the parking lot west. Volunteers will guide you through the drop off process.
To support the scouts their asking for a $10 donation on-site.
Troop 1847 and Gear Hut say the goal is to reduce unnecessary environmental impact, while supporting local communities.
Drop-off times:
- Saturday, August 30: 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
- Sunday, August 31: 12:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
- Monday, September 1: 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Collected goods will be cleaned, sorted and redistributed to local shelters.
