The community turned out to shred sensitive documents and protect themselves from identity fraud on Saturday.
The Better Business Bureau hosted its Secure Your ID Day event on Saturday, allowing people to shred up to three boxes or bags of documents for free.
It was held at the Atlantis Casino in partnership with American Document Destruction and 2 News Nevada.
More than 400 people brought more than 15,000 pounds of documents to shred.
They also brought food and cash donations for the Food Bank of Northern Nevada - more than $2,200 and 1,700 pounds of food.
The BBB recommends shredding any documents that include personal or sensitive information.
