People in Sparks will soon see their sewer bills going up.

The Sparks City Council has unanimously approved an ordinance that will raise user fees by 6% in April.

It also approves gradual increases, with prices going up every year by 5% until the end of the decade.

There will be a final 4% price hike in 2031.

City officials do a survey every five years to see if prices need to change in order to fund the sewer program.

The decision to raise prices came after a survey sent out last year.
