The Pyramid Lake Police Department has honored former Officer Anthony Francone with a highway sign on State Route 446 near Nixon.
The police department along with the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe dedicated part of State Route 446 to Sutcliffe as Officer Anthony Francone Memorial Highway on Tuesday.
Members of the Storey County Sheriff's Office also attended the dedication.
On August 25, of 2023 Francone was hit and killed by a car while being in the line of duty. He served with the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribal Police for just over two years and was a police officer for 26 years, including in Storey County.
