Fifty-two Washoe County School District seniors who completed their graduation requirements during the summer will receive their diplomas at the district's Summer Graduation Ceremony on Friday, August 7.
The students completed their coursework, earned the required credits and passed the necessary tests to graduate as members of the Class of 2026.
The ceremony will bring together graduates, their families, members of the Washoe County School District Board of Trustees, administrators and school staff members to recognize the students' achievement.
“These students showed determination and dedication to finishing their high school courses through the summer months, and we are proud of their accomplishment,” WCSD Board of Trustees President Adam Mayberry said. “We look forward to celebrating with them, their families, and the school staff members who helped make this possible.”
Superintendent Tiffany McMaster said earning a high school diploma creates opportunities for graduates regardless of the path they choose next.
“A high school diploma opens doors to whatever future our graduates choose for themselves, whether in higher education, a highly skilled career, or military service,” McMaster said. “I am proud of our summer graduates and grateful to the staff members who worked through the summer months to ensure they finished all the requirements necessary to graduate as members of the Class of 2026. My sincere congratulations to our graduates, their families, and our staff members who worked together to achieve this goal.”
