Neighbors in the south Reno area will no longer have to travel to central Reno to shop at Trader Joe's.
The chain officially opened its new location Wednesday morning in The Summit mall.
The new store carries all the same stuff as the other one however, this location is a bit more spacious.
The store captain says he's happy with how it turned out and excited to introduce it to the rest of the community.
"I just like to thank the community, you know, being the captain at the other store for so long and there was just so much demand, and we listen to our customers, and I'm really grateful that they're such a welcoming community,"Â said Sam West, store captain.
While this store is very similar to the other location, it does carry some of its own unique features like the interior artwork. Each piece pays a special homage to different local landmarks and other things such as Geiger Grade, Virginia City, and of course the biggest little city in the world.
This location is also expected to benefit The Summit mall as a whole, attracting more customers to other businesses in the mall.
While lots of neighbors in south Reno are excited to finally get a new store in the area, some say they are worried about the parking.
"It's a lot closer than the other one is to me so I'm happy about that," said Rebecca Lyons, Reno resident.
"I'm concerned about the Trader Joe's being here because the Renown clinic is right next door and if Trader Joe's attracts all of the patrons, there's no more parking for some of the patients that have handicaps or oxygen requirements,"Â said Kyle Jones, Reno resident.
