Storey County marijuana arrests

Recent traffic stops by the Storey County Sheriff’s Office have resulted in several arrests and the seizure of large amounts of marijuana on county roadways.

According to the Storey County Sheriff’s Office, in an online Facebook post, while marijuana is legal in Nevada, the quantities discovered in these incidents exceeded legal limits.

The most recent case involved the confiscation of more than 200 pounds of marijuana.

“These amounts aren’t” legal, the sheriff’s office stated. “The latest arrest yielded over 200 pounds! This has made for a very stinky evidence room.”

Officials reminded the public that transporting more than the legally allowed amount of marijuana in Storey County could result in arrest and incarceration.

“Need to know the laws and regulations regarding LEGAL marijuana use in Nevada? We have you covered! You can read all about it at the State of Nevada Cannabis Compliance Board website link,” the sheriff’s office added.

They also cautioned, “If you transport more than the legal amount of marijuana in Storey County, you may just earn a stay at our jail.”

Residents and visitors are encouraged to review Nevada’s marijuana laws and comply with legal possession limits.
