The Town of Truckee is moving forward with a pilot program for a temporary homeless shelter.
At a meeting last week, the town approved a one-year lease for the Navigation Center on Deerfield Drive.
The Tahoe Truckee Homeless Action Coalition recommended the site which would include six year-round beds and 10 drop in shelter beds.
The town also authorized up to $360,000 of American Rescue Plan funding for the pilot program, which would begin in January.
