Governor Joe Lombardo has announced a two-hour delay for the opening of state government offices in Carson, Churchill, Douglas, Lyon, Mineral, Storey, and Washoe counties due to ongoing severe weather.

The Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) and the Department of Public Safety (DPS) are reporting icy roads and potentially dangerous driving conditions across Northwestern Nevada.

As a result, state government offices in these areas will open at 10:00 AM today, Wednesday, February 18, 2026.

Governor Lombardo urges all Nevadans to drive cautiously while adverse weather persists in the region. Check NVRoads.com for the latest traffic updates and road conditions.

COUNTY OFFICES:

Meanwhile, Douglas County Manger Jenifer Davidson—after consulting with Douglas County Sheriff Dan Coverley—has authorized the 2-hour delayed start of County offices Wednesday, February 18, 2026.

Aside from essential public safety, corrections, and courts, County offices will operate on the delayed start.
