Two people were rescued after a side-by-side accident on Tuesday in Elko County.
Just after 10:30 a.m., the Elko County Sheriff's Office received an emergency call about two men involved in an accident in the area of McKittrick Canyon on the northside of the Pequop Mountain Range.
Deputies learned the side-by-side had driven off of a ravine and struck a tree. One man sustained a shoulder injury while the other had broken ribs.
One of the men walked to a location where there was cellphone service and called 911.
Due to the crash happening in a remote area, Reach Air Ambulance responded and was able to land nearby.
Sheriff's deputies and Elko City Firefighters arrived on scene and assisted the Reach Air Ambulance flight crew.
The man with broken ribs was placed on a backboard and was carried from the scene to an awaiting side-by-side. He was then airlifted to Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital.
A deputy transported the man with shoulder pain to their hunting camp.
