Update:
Reno Police officers detained two juveniles who ran away from the scene and matched the description of the suspected shooters.
One was arrested for firing a gun in a protected area, being a juvenile in possession of a gun and controlled substance (marijuana vape pen).
The second was arrested for firing a gun in a protected area and for being a juvenile in possession of a gun. Both were booked into the Jan Evans Detention Facility.
No injuries were reported from the shots fired and police recovered one of the guns involved.

McQueen High School and Sarah Winnemucca Elementary were placed on secured campus status after a shots fired report near Daybreak Drive and Stargaze Way in Reno on Thursday.
The Washoe County School District placed both schools on secured campus status Thursday morning following reports of shots fired near the intersection of Daybreak Drive and Stargaze Way, which was reported to authorities around 10:15 a.m.
Reno Police Department (RPD) officers, along with school police, are on the scene, and Sparks Police may also be involved due to the nature of the call.
At this time, there have been no reports of injuries, but Reno Police says they do have one person detained in relation to the incident and are still actively conducting an investigation.
In an online statement, the Washoe County School District says that both schools have resumed normal operations.Â
The district issued its original statement at 10:24 a.m. confirming the secured campus and assuring parents and the public that the situation was being handled by law enforcement as seen in the letter sent to families below:Â
Good afternoon, McQueen Families.
 This is Principal Holbrook.
 I want you to be aware that there was a report of police activity near our school today. We notified school police and placed the campus on a Secured Campus to ensure everyone was safe. During this incident, teaching and learning continued in our classrooms.
I would like to reassure you that our school police department works in partnership with our local law enforcement agencies to investigate all allegations in situations like this. The district issued an updated online statement at 12:05 p.m. stating that McQueen High School remains in a secured campus due to the incident, but that Sarah Winnemucca Elementary has resumed normal operations.Â
