A number of popular Lake Tahoe area campgrounds and resorts are opening for the season in the coming days.

In a release, the U.S. Forest Service says Round Hill Pines Resort is set to open on Thursday.

May 5 will bring the opening of the Meeks Bay Resort and Campgrounds.

On May 23, Fallen Leaf, Luther Pass, Nevada Beach, and William Kent campgrounds will open.

The Forest Service reminds people that some Tahoe beaches do not allow dogs.
