Jacky Rosen - United States Senate

U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen secured funding for Nevada in the latest government funding bill for the Fiscal Year 2026. Funding for programs include SNAP, WIC, and programs that support Military and Veterans.

The package included funding of $14.5 million for community projects in Nevada, $8.2 billion for WIC, and complete funding for the SNAP program. All of the funding is secured until September 30, 2026.

According to Senator Jacky Rosen, these critical food aid benefits cannot be held hostage by Republicans in any future government shutdown that takes place during Fiscal Year 2026.

U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen said, “My focus has always been to stand up for Nevadans and make sure hardworking families have the tools they need to succeed.”

The Senator also said, “I was glad to see we locked-in a full year of funding for many of the critical programs that are being used as political leverage by Donald Trump, like SNAP and WIC. I also made sure Nevada will get its fair share of federal funding to support our state’s unique needs – from Tribal community development and modernizing our military installations to managing Mormon cricket infestations and expanding affordable housing.”

More funding is being used for improved wildfire-fighting missions, a planning proposal of a Regional Communications Center at Nellis Air Force Base, and an improved facility design to support F-35 data.

Senator Jacky Rosen also secured funding for veterans’ medical care, and affordable housing programs. Funding will also go towards helping farmers and ranchers in Nevada and across the country.
