USPS Hiring event

The U.S. Postal Service is planning two hiring fairs this month in Northern Nevada as it looks to fill Rural Carrier Associate and Assistant Rural Carrier positions.

USPS representatives will be available at both events to answer questions, provide information about available jobs, and assist potential applicants through the hiring process.

The first hiring fair is scheduled from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Friday, June 12, at the EmployNV Career Hub, 2281 Pyramid Way in Sparks.

A second event is planned from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Friday, June 26, at the EmployNV Business Hub, 4001 S. Virginia St., Suite 11, in Reno.

According to the Postal Service, Rural Carrier Associates and Assistant Rural Carriers serve families and businesses in rural and suburban areas by delivering and collecting mail. Workers may also sell stamps, supplies and money orders.

The starting salary for the positions is $21.89 per hour, paid biweekly. Applicants must have a valid state driver's license and maintain a safe driving record.

The Postal Service said the positions are available to people seeking seasonal, part time or full time employment opportunities.
