Keep Tahoe Blue and the Tahoe Resource Conservation District are seeking volunteers for a hands-on project to help restore Johnson Meadow in South Lake Tahoe.
Volunteers, guided by restoration professionals, will stabilize the banks of the Upper Tricker River to restore meadow habitat. Keep Tahoe Blue says Tahoe’s forests, meadows, marshes, wetlands, and streams act as natural filters, removing polluting particles from flowing water before they reach the Lake itself.
It's happening on Tahoe Forest Stewardship Day, Saturday September 26 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The meeting location is the south end of Winnemucca Ave in South Lake Tahoe.
All tools and training will be provided, along with lunch.
