A wanted felon is now in custody after leading officials from the Lyon County Sheriff's Office (LCSO) on a chase.

According to a release from the Lyon County Sheriff's Office, at around 4:45 p.m. on May 5, the LCSO Special Investigations Unit were conducting an operation in the Silver Springs area when they saw a car driving with no license plates and no windshield.

After the car pulled into a driveway, detectives approached it. The driver ignored officer commands, got back into the car, and nearly hit a detective speeding out out the driveway.

The driver got around two miles away with the car before getting it stuck, at which point he ran away on foot - he was arrested near a house on Banner Avenue.

The driver was identified as 53-year-old Raymond Gabriel Edwards from Silver Springs.

After a check, Edwards was found to have three outstanding misdemeanor warrants and two outstanding felony warrants.

Additionally, officials found that the car Edwards was driving had been reported as stolen out of the Reno area.

Just under one ounce of methamphetamine was found inside the car, as well.

Edwards has been booked into the Lyon County Jail on the new charges of assault with a deadly weapon on a peace officer, felony eluding a peace officer, possession of a controlled substance and possession of a stolen motor vehicle.

The outstanding felony warrants Edwards was booked on include use of an electric stun gun other than in self defense, possession of marijuana over one ounce but less than 50 pounds and trafficking in a controlled substance. The misdemeanor warrants were for three charge of contempt of court - failure to appear on a traffic citation.

Bail has been set for Edwards at $147,055.
