More details have emerged about an incident on the campus of Reno High School. A man was arrested after he was allegedly found with weapons in his car.

According to a probable cause document obtained by 2 News Nevada, Alejandro Barragan was found sleeping in his car on Reno High School property.

Police saw a rifle in the open in the back seat of his car.

Barragan was detained, and police asked him for permission to search the car, which he granted.

Police then went on to find a handgun on the front passenger seat and four knives.

Barragan was arrested and taken to the Washoe County Jail.

He is facing six counts of possession of a dangerous weapon on school property and one count of possession of a weapon with intention to sell or transport without a serial number.

The Washoe County School District has shared details of an incident that occurred as school was starting Tuesday morning at Reno High School.

A school district phone call was placed to families of Reno High School students this morning, letting them know about the incident.

According to the call, school police were called after a person was seen on the high school campus who had not checked in at the office.

Officials say that no students were involved, and the school police took the person into custody as students and staff arrived at the start of the school day.

The district reports that everyone is safe and school will continue to operate as normal today.
