Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue and Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District came together to rescue an injured hiker on Sunday.
It happened on the Ophir Creek Trail near Davis Creek Park, according to a post from the WCSO on X.
The hiker had slipped on an icy section of the trail and broke his leg.
Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue teams worked with TMFPD Engine 32 and reached the hiker about a quarter mile up the trail.
They used specialized extraction equipment and a vacuum splint to stabilize the hiker and take him to an ambulance, which took him to the hospital.
