A hiker missing for 10 days was found safe in the mountains in Northern California, authorities said.

Reno and Truckee Meadows firefighters responded to a call about a hiker with a traumatic injury on Saturday.

The condition of the hiker is unknown at this time.

The hikers, aged 87 and 70, were treated on scene and declined medical transport to the hospital.

The Sheriff's Office says the hikers were not dressed for the weather and in difficult terrain, which included deep snow.
