Washoe County students looking to show off their artistic creativity and possibly even win a prize can do just that in an upcoming contest.Â
The Washoe County School District is holding its 2nd Annual Safe Routes to School Pedestrian and Bike Safety Poster Contest!Â
The contest is open to all WCSD students, and one winner will be chosen from each of the following three categories: Elementary, Middle, and High School.
Each category winner will receive an iPad, a new bike, and have their artwork featured on an RTC bus for one year.Â
WCSD reminds all elementary student entries to remember to include Washoe County K9 Officer Astro in their design.Â
All poster entries must be 11" by 17" and easy for drivers to read and understand at 40 mph.Â
The deadline for all poster entries is February 7, no later than 4:30 p.m. They can either be mailed or dropped off to Safe Routes to School at 425 East Ninth Street, Reno, NV 89512.
