Washoe County School District families will have set end-of-year dates for the 2026-27 school year after the district updated its calendars to remove uncertainty around possible changes to the final day of classes.
Students on the Balanced Calendar will finish the school year on Friday, June 4, 2027, while students in Incline Village will have their last day on Wednesday, June 9, 2027. TMCC High School and Gerlach K-12 School will not have changes to their calendars.
The district said the calendar update comes after receiving questions and concerns from families about planning around final exams, graduation ceremonies, end-of-year activities, and summer plans.
Previously, contingency days could be added after the scheduled final day of the school year, leaving families unsure of when classes would actually end. Under the updated calendars, contingency days are built into the school year, and the final scheduled day for students will remain unchanged.
WCSD said it is implementing the recently approved calendars after approval from the Nevada Department of Education. The district said the changes are intended to provide more clarity for students, families and staff.
The district’s 2026-27 school calendars are available through its website.
