A woman was arrested on charges of DUI and child endangerment after a two-car head-on crash in Sun Valley early Wednesday morning.

It happened around 12:30 a.m. at the intersection of West 7th Avenue and Sidehill Drive, according to a release from the Washoe County Sheriff's Office.

When they got on scene, deputies found two heavily damaged vehicles. One of them was carrying five minors, ages 17, 9, 7, 4, and 3.

According to a preliminary investigation, the driver of the vehicle with the five minors, identified as 23-year-old Eugenia Lafevere, was allegedly impaired at the time of the crash.

It was also determined that two of the youngest minors were not properly restrained at the time of the collision.

All five minors were taken to Renown to be evaluated and were treated for minor injuries before being released to a family member.

The driver of the second vehicle suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was treated at the scene, the Sheriff's Office said.

Lafevere was arrested and booked on charges including driving under the influence and five counts of child endangerment.

The incident remains under investigation.
