A man has been arrested following two separate instances of domestic battery in Fernley, one of which resulted in the victim being hospitalized.
The Lyon County Sheriff's Office arrested 28-year-old Cody Cunningham on one charge of felony domestic battery and one count of misdemeanor domestic battery.
On Thursday just before 1:15 p.m., deputies responded to Rosencrest Drive in Fernley for a domestic battery call.
The victim told them Cunningham fled after battering her and probable cause was established to arrest him.
A search was started but authorities could not find him, according to a press release from the Sheriff's Office.
A little less than two hours later deputies were sent to the same address on another report of domestic violence.
When they arrived the victim said Cunningham had returned and battered her before fleeing again.
Paramedics determined her injuries were so bad that she was taken to an area hospital for emergency treatment.
Deputies found Cunningham walking in the neighborhood about a half hour later.
He was uncooperative but ultimately arrested and booked into the Lyon County Jail. His bail has been set at $13,140.
Anyone with information on this case is asked to contact the LCSO's Fernley substation at (775) 463-6600 and reference case number 24LY01130.
