The Sparks City Attorney says a man has been convicted of domestic violence.
The Sparks City Attorney's Office says a judge found Howard Wayne Cates guilty of domestic battery Tuesday.
It was his first offense and prosecutors say he pushed a woman causing her to fall into the stairs in their home.
He was sentenced to 180 days in jail but that was suspended on the condition he complete 48 hours of community service, 26 weeks of domestic violence counseling and pay a $500 fine.
