A man is facing several child pornography-related charges after being arrested earlier this week by an internet crimes task force.Â
The Washoe County Sheriff's Office says 20-year-old Oscar Zamorano-Rea was arrested on Wednesday after the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force received a tip in January 2024 about alleged child sexual abuse material being uploaded to a chat application, from Sun Valley.Â
A subsequent investigation revealed that the suspect's chat account was sending the alleged material to other users.Â
Deputies say the task force got a search warrant for Zamorano-Rea's home, eventually seizing his cell phone where authorities allegedly found the pornographic material.Â
Zamorano-Rea was booked into the Washoe County Jail on felony charges, including possession of visual pornography of a person under 16, distribution of visual pornography of a minor, and use of the Internet to control visual pornography of a person under 16.
