A Winter Storm warning is in effect for the Tahoe Basin and Mono County from 2 p.m. Saturday until 11 p.m. Sunday.
Sierra roads will be slick at times, especially at night as temperatures cool. Visibility will be low as well.
Chain controls are currently in place on Interstate 80 from Truckee to Baxter.
For a complete, up-to-date look at chain controls, check out the Nevada Department of Transportation's 511 map or the Caltrans QuickMap.
The Nevada Department of Transportation suggests only traveling in winter weather, when necessary, leave enough time to safely reach your destination, and plan your route to avoid snowy/icy areas and steep hills.
