Nevada Attorney General Aaron D. Ford

Nevada Attorney General Aaron Ford has joined up with 19 other attorneys general to bring back Kash Patel for more questioning.

The coalition of attorneys sent a letter to Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley, asking him to bring Patel, the President's nominee for FBI Director, back before the Senate Judiciary Committee.

The request was brought about by worries of politically-motivated firings at the FBI regarding agents involved in the investigation of the January 6 riots.

"Congress must ensure that the FBI can do its vital work unencumbered by political pressures or threats of retaliation,” said AG Ford. “Without these protections, the FBI will be severely diminished in its capacity to ensure public safety. I urge the Senate to treat these discussions seriously and to further question Mr. Patel to ensure the FBI will not become politicized or undermined.”

Joining Attorney General Ford in sending the letter are the attorneys general from Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont and Washington.
