David Anthony Burke, whose stage name is D4vd, is arraigned Monday, April 20, 2026, in Los Angeles on charges of killing a 14-year-old girl whose dismembered body was found in his car.
Singer D4vd has pleaded not guilty to a murder charge in the death of a 14-year-old girl who authorities say was found dismembered in his Tesla last year. Los Angeles prosecutors said Monday that the 21-year-old singer whose legal name is David Burke was charged with first-degree murder and other charges in the killing of Celeste Rivas Hernandez. She was 13 when her family last saw her in 2024 and she was last known to be alive in April 2025. Her long-dead body was found in September. Burke's lawyers said after he was arrested Thursday that he did not kill Rivas Hernandez and they will defend his innocence.
Lawyers for singer D4vd are pushing to have prosecutors quickly and publicly present the evidence they have against him in the killing of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez. The 21-year-old whose legal name is David Burke returns to court for a hearing Thursday just three days after he was charged and pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder. In a rare move, he is exercising his right in California to have a judge decide whether there is enough evidence to proceed to trial within 10 court days of his arraignment. The body of Rivas Hernandez was found dismembered in a Tesla in the Hollywood Hills in September.
