Florida Small Plane Crash

The father of a 20-year-old private jet co-pilot who died in a crash in Florida said has listened to his daughter’s final radio transmissions many times to try to understand what happened. In doing so, Allan Filgueiras, a pilot himself, said he has felt pride in how his daughter handled the crisis. Speaking at a news conference Friday in response to online criticism of Nathalia Gadelha Filgueiras, her father praised how she kept calling out updates to air traffic control even as she realized the plane’s fate was sealed. The family has defended her qualifications, noting she had over 1,300 flight hours. Investigators are still searching for clues to the crash.
