A gunman firing from a vehicle in the Paris suburbs has killed one person and wounded at least five others in what French authorities describe as a racially motivated attack. The suspect was arrested soon after the shooting, and France’s National Anti-Terrorism Prosecutor’s office has taken charge of the case. President Emmanuel Macron calls it “a racist terror attack” and says the suspect's statements suggest it was premeditated. The shootings took place over about 15 minutes at three locations in Trappes and La Verrière. Authorities say the victims appeared to be of African or North African origin.
