Nepal Flash floods

Flash floods in Nepal have killed at least 22 people and left hundreds missing, including tourists and workers. The floods swept through communities and halted travel in parts of the Himalayan country. Nepalese officials reported 384 tourists missing, with many from India, the United States, Britain and Malaysia. Most of the missing are believed to be on pilgrimage to Mount Kailash in neighboring China's Tibet region. China has launched search and rescue efforts as state media note major casualties in a border community of Gyirong. The floods were likely caused by an avalanche from a glacier, highlighting the region's vulnerability to climate change.
